Giuliano's Comment: This new type of networking website is directly for people in the sports industry. Those who are playing a sport or those who work in the sport world. This is a great new technology that will allow people in this business to communicate with others, and network with those only in the sports industry. This is another professional website that you can put your accomplishments and career background. It can be a great website for recruitment for positions. I would encourage those who have an interest in a career in sports to join this website.

Wearable Jump Sensor in the NBA

How The NBA Should Start Using The VERT Wearable Jump Sensor

vertdude
Some of the most entertaining players in the NBA share one common feature, top tier athleticism. From LeBron and his signature fast break slam to Blake Griffin and his knack for putting defenders on a poster, many players gain recognition and eventual popularity because of their jaw dropping explosiveness.
Giuliano's Comment: The NBA is adding new technology to record different types of stats in the record books. This new technology from VERT allows players to wear a sensor that can measure jump heights in a game. These high flying athletes can use this device to their advantage in the games. By keeping record of jump measurements they can improve upon their skill to see gains in the future. Also another benefit from this product could take the viewership of certain players to a new level. With instant replays and showing of the height an athlete reached during an amazing play. This device can be use for any sport that uses the techniques of reaching certain jumping heights.

MLB All-Star Ballots Go Digital Starting This Season

The 2015 MLB All Star game in Cincinnati will be the first game to have the rosters decided by only online voting methods.
The 2015 MLB All Star game in Cincinnati will be the first game to have the rosters decided by only online voting methods.
Major league Baseball is known for its consistency and history. The sport known as “America’s Pastime” has made very little changes to the way games are played and broadcasted. But the MLB may be adapting to the current trend of technological advancements in the sports world.
Giuliano's Comment: Major League Baseball is known for keeping up with old tradition, and not falling under the spell of the technology advancements in the world of sports. However, now they are starting to build up on those trends. The first change of the game came when the league implemented instant replays a few years ago. Now they have changed their method of the All Star voting. The ballots won't be filled out on paper anymore. Now they have moved to an online version of voting. I think this is a great change in the league, because it will get more fans involved. Also it will allow players more opportunity to be voted into the game, and we will get to see new skills on the field.

Screen Shot 2015-03-24 at 1.09.25 PM
Over the last several years numerous companies have stepped up to the plate and developed software and hardware solutions to help athletes and coaches stay ahead of the game. One of those companies is Eon Sports VR.
Giuliano's Comment: Eon Sports VR has developed technology to help athletes of all ages provide a virtual reality type of training that is much  safer than on-the-field training. It also allows for more mental preparation. This device is a strap on headset that will bring players to show a virtual environment so they can train as if they were live and on the field. I believe that this technology will help with prevent injury at practice, and will bring more mental preparation for the game. However, it will take away from the physical and active  moments. Players need to prepare for how hard they are going to get hit so they can bounce right back up and keep playing. This technology might help an organization, but should not be overused.

New Hi-Def Technology Used in March Madness

This Year’s March Madness Referees Have Hi-Def Instant Replay For The First Time

NCAA Replay Basketball
To help the referees get calls correct and eliminate some of the controversy and chaos, NCAA officials for both the men’s and women’s tournament will have high-definition instant replay for the first time thanks to DVSport.
Giuliano's Comment: DVSport is already known for providing  professional and college teams software that allows coaches and players to use laptops to break down film of themselves or the opponent. This allows teams to study their competition to gain advantage in the game. It also allows teams to study their movements to improve on their skills. I believe this technology allows the game to be more competitive. To see who study their components better. High definition is going to grow in the sport industry to allow officals and referees to make the correct calls in the game.

Three-time NBA All-Star and Most Valuable Player in 2011, Derrick Rose, recently had his second surgery on the same torn meniscus in his right knee that he tore in 2013 playing against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Giuliano's Comment: Derrick Rose is a valuable player in the NBA organization. However, his right knee is still determining if he will be able to return. He has recently gotten surgery for the second time on that knee on February 27th. The doctors say the surgery went well, and predicted a 4-6 week of rehabilitation to possible return to the court. The three main devices that will give Derrick Rose the strength to play in the NBA again are working on a solid pro dual leg extension or curl machine daily. Also, when he walks, run, or plays basketball he should always have an X-Factor knee brace. The finally device to rehabilitate his knee is Rose could use therapeutic ultrasound administration to bring pulse frequencies through the knee to lessen the pain.

Tech Upgrade at Amway Center

Magic, VenueNext in talks for tech upgrade at Amway Center

The Orlando Magic is in talks with tech vendor VenueNext to help upgrade mobile technology at Amway Center for next season, team CEO Alex Martins said.

Giuliano's Comment: VenueNext is a company that uses technology to enhance the fans experience in the stadium. Venuenext developed the mobile application for Levi's stadium. The Magic team wants to completely mobilize for next season, whether it's food and beverage, retail, replays, and stats. These next round of tech upgrades will come from a capital expenditures fund tied to the facility fee for all tickets sold for all events at Amway Center. Other improvements include upgrade of the entire north end was open. Now there is more seating and a 20,000-square-foot plaza for fans.
